Tanita Council, Birth and Postpartum Doula

Pregnant woman need a support system of woman to support them with labor and delivery as well as postpartum. There are too many traumatic births and if I can lower the cortisone of a mom while being her support than my job is done.

I am a Certified Lactation Counselor.   I have been a Doula since June 2019 and have interest in vBac births.   I also have interest and training in breastfeeding support, LGBTQ families, placenta encapsulation, rebozo.  I have attended births at Mercy Medical and Baystate Medical Centers.  I am traveling from Springfield, MA and don’t mind traveling up to 90 min each direction.

I know how overwhelming, scary, and delighted it feels to be pregnant. Having a doula at my only child's first birth made my first birth feel enchanted, guided, and wholesome. I hope to pay it forward to the community, which provided me with the resources to have a doula, and ultimately raised me. Doula work is very intimate, genuine, and time sensitive.

I am a childbirth and breastfeeding educator.  I am CPR/First Aid certified.   I am also certified as a birth doula as well as a postpartum doula since May 2019.  I have attended births at Baystate Medical Center.  I am willing to travel within 30 minutes from Westfield, MA.

Doula work is important to me because birth is a precious gift. Being a part of that emotional and physical dynamic, empowers the family to focus on the birth of their baby. It is a blessing to see and be a part of the Miracle of Life. Having support every step of the way telling you," you got this" is more than just a powerful statement. It's a powerful state of mind! Every women should be empowered with that kind of support! Let’s take this journey together!
